Surah Al-Fatiha facts, its spiritual and healing benefits
Surah Al-Fatiha (The Opening) is the first Makki Surah (Chapter) of the Glorious Quran. It is called “the Opening OR The Key” because it is the first Surah of the Quran, and the first Surah to be recited in every Salah/Namaz. Moreover, it is the “The Key or the Opening” to start our daily life activities with its recitation. Surah Fatiha is considered the summary of the Holy Quran. Surah Fatiha is the declaration of the Oneness of Allah Almighty and a request for his guidance and blessings.
It has 7 Verses. It is a very powerful Surah that comprises two parts.
In the first part, while reciting Surah Fatiha, it glorifies the beautiful names (Al Rahman, Al Raheem) of Allah (S.W.T) the Almighty and in the 2nd part, it requests the Lord of the Universe for guidance on the straight, path of those who are blessed and not those who are astray. Surah Al-Fatiha is an integral part of daily Salah / Prayers. Being a powerful Surah of the Quran, it has its spiritual and healing benefits. Prophet Muhammad highlights the significance and benefits of Surah Al-Fatiha that there is nothing like Surah Fatiha in Torah, Zaboor and Injil, nor another Surah like this in the Quran. Following are some of the benefits of Surah Al-Fatiha:
Surah Al-Fatiha for shifa (cure diseases):
For all ailments/diseases recite Surah Al-Fatiha seven (07) times and blow on the water for a patient to drink. Moreover, recite over a patient in the morning and evening. For high fever, recite Surah Fatiha 40 times and blow over patient, and on water to make him drink. For severe headaches, recite Surah Fatiha three (03) times and blow over head of the patient and also over water for the patient to drink.
Barakah in day to day activities and elevates one’s spiritual state:
Generally to solve all your problems and to receive what you ask for it is advised to recite Surah Al-Fatiha every morning after Fajr Salah and before going to bed. Allah (S.W.T) will elevate your spiritual state, will shower his blessings, solve all your problems and you will achieve general well-being, happiness and prosperity in life. Sincerity and humbleness and certain guidelines needs to be followed and are mandatory while reciting Surah Al-Fatiha or any other dua to achieve the highest spiritual state. Moreover, recite Surah Fatiha with Bismillah when the new moon is sighted, it will ward off evil and harm the whole month.
Surah Al-Fatiha for hajaats (needs)
Generally
To lead the life we all have needs and requirements. We need a good job or business, we need food, shelter, conveyance, and clothes to wear, not just for ourselves but for our dependents as well. All these are just requirements of life. The desire to have a good Car or bike is not prohibited in Islam. The desire to have a good house is not a bad desire or a prohibited one. One must strive to achieve these goals and must ask for help from Allah (S.W.T) to fulfill these permissible and proper needs, requirements and desires. For rightful hajaat (needs, requirements, and desires) perform the following wazifa:
Wazifa
Chose a time either after Fajar or Isha prayers. keep your needs in mind and recite 500 times “iyyaka na’budu wa iyyaka nastaeen” “ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ”. Also recite Durood Sharif 11 times before and after the wazifa. Perform this Wazifa with utmost sincerity, humbleness and attentiveness. Allah (S.W.T) with his blessings will fulfill all rightful needs of his servant. But it is mandatory to follow guidelines of performing any wazaifs.
Surah Al-Fatiha for Rizk (Sustenance)
Surah Al-Fatiha is a Prayer (Dua). Regular recitation of Surah Fatiha increases Rizk (Sustenance). For this purpose the following Wazifa can be performed.
Wazifa
Offer 2 Rakat Tahajjud Namaz (prayer) and then recite Surah Al-Fatiha 41 times. Also, recite Durood Sharif three times before and after Surah Fatiha. Then sincerely ask for increase in Halal Rizk (Sustenance) from Allah (S.W.T) in Dua. Inshallah in days Allah (S.W.T) will provide halal rizq in abundance and will increase barakah in rizq.
Surah Al-Fatiha for marriage
For marriage, the above Wazifa can be performed, i.e. to recite Surah Fatiha 41 times with Durood Sharif before and after and in dua ask from Allah (S.W.T).
