Wazaif and Virtues of Surah Al-Mulk

The Virtues of Surah Al-Mulk:

Jâbir b. Abdullah narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) would not sleep until he recited Surahs as-Sajdah and al-Mulk”.

Abdullah b. Mas‘ood narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) said: “Surah Tabârak is what prevents the punishment of the grave.”

Abu Hurayrah narrates on behalf of the Prophet (saws): “There is a Surah in the Qur’an that is thirty ayahs. It will intercede for a man until he is forgiven. It is: Blessed is the One in Whose Hands rests all authority…”

Out of a number of hadith, the above few eloquently explain the significance and power of Surah Al-Mulk. In the beginning of this Surah, Allah the Exalted glorifies His high existence, and informs us that he is the One who holds the dominion which means that he deals with and owns all his creatures. He, the Almighty can’t be questioned for what He does, his decree cannot be challenged, His divine orders are to be followed and He does that because of His force, His wisdom, Justice and Knowledge. And He is very well able to do all these things because He can.

Surah Al-Mulk

“And He is most capable of everything”

Then Allah the Exalted then informs that He is the One who created “life and death”. Then he explains the creation of the seven heavens, one above the other and questions us if we see any imperfection, any flaws, in His creations. We are asked to look again and again to witness His creation.

  1. Wazifa for protection from the torment of the grave:

After death, the first agony and despair a man will face will be in the grace. The Angels will be asking tough questions, and a person with weak ima’an will be terrified of the experience. Here I repeat hadith of the Prophet Muhammad that:  “Whoever recites Surah Al Mulk every night, Allah will protect him from the torment of the grave.” (Tirmidhi). Therefore, it is highly recommended to recite Surah Al-Mulk once at night, or once any time of the day. May Allah (S.W.T) save us all from the torments and punish of the grave. A’ameen.

  1. Surah Mulk wazifa for the knowledge of the unseen:

Allah (S.W.T) grants the knowledge of the unseen to the one who daily recite Surah Al-Mulk.

  1. Surah Al-Mulk wazifa for the grant of good death:

Death, as mentioned earlier is not an easy end of life, some die after a long suffering due to illness, some people meet a fatal accident. There are a number of duas of the Prophet Muhammad asking for safety and protection against death caused by accidents, fire, drowning, or through long and fatal illness. Daily recitation of Surah Al-Mulk will protect and Allah (S.W.T) will make death easy. (Tabarani)

  1. Wazifa for the protection of children

Surah Al-Mulk is a short but powerful chapter of the Holy Qur’an, complete in its wisdom and guidance. So, it is highly recommended to recite and blow over kids for their protection against evil eyes (nazr e bad), Jinns and Shayateen. Therefore, Surah Mulk may be recited daily after Ish’a Prayers (night prayers) followed by Ayat-ul-Kursi and blow over kids so that Allah (S.W.T) protects them from any harm and evil.
