    Introduction

    Laylat al- Qadr, the holiest night of Islam and The Night of Power respectively, fall on one of the last 10 nights in the holy month of Ramadhaan.

    Laylat al-Qadr: This is the night that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) receives his first revelation of the Holy Quran. That such significance is emphasized by the Quran is shown unmistakably when it says “s such as this (the Night of Al-Qadr), for deed, it is better; than a thousand months.” (Surah: Al-Qadr: 97:3).     When is Laylatul Qadr?

    Laylatul Qadr’s date is vague and the Prophet (PBUH) is told to seek odd nights of the last ten odd nights of Ramadhan i.e. especially 21st, 23rd , 25th , 27th  or 29th.

    1.     The Noblest of the Prayers (Salah)

    It is recommended to do more Tahajjud (Night prayer). The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Whoever stands in prayer on Laylatul Qadr with faith and expect for forgiveness will be forgiven. (Bukhari and Muslim)

    2.     Recite and Reflect on the Quran

    The best to do for Tahaajjud (night Taraweeh) is reading, memorizing and understanding what { The Glorified Allah has revealed from Quran}. Try reciting Surah Al-Qadr (Chapter 97) and reflecting on its meanings.

    3.     Supplications (dua)

    Aisha (RA) asked the Prophet (PBUH), “O Messenger of Allah, if I know which night is Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?” He replied: “Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni” (O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me). (Tirmidhi)

    4.     Perform Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)

    Increase in reciting SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar, and La ilaha illallah. This night is the best time to seek closeness to Allah through sincere remembrance.

    5.     Istighfar (seek forgiveness)

    Because sins get rinsed away on this night, say Astaghfirullah and a repent from previous wrongdoings.

    6.     Give Charity and Help Others

    The Prophet (PBUH) was most generous in Ramadan, especially in the last ten nights. Give Sadaqah (charity) to maximize your blessings on Laylatul Qadr.

    7. Perform I’tikaf (Seclusion in the Mosque)

    During the last ten nights of Ramadaan, one can completely immerse themselves in prayer and didicate themselves to worship and avoid worldly distractedions.
